New Jezreel Valley Railroad
A project for the construction of an eastbound railway line at the northern exit of Haifa.
As part of the bridgework above the Central Bus Station at the Checkpost Junction and over Histadrut Boulevard in the Haifa Bay area, Shapir carried out the work while maintaining a normal traffic routine and regular vehicular traffic beneath the highway overpass.
What did the project include?
Construction of 3 km of bridges using complex methods.
Construction of approximately 15 km of railway embankments.
Construction of four consecutive railway bridges totaling 1.5 km from the Paz Bridge area to Nesher, including an overpass at the Checkpost Junction and a segment of the Lev Hamifratz Railway Station.
The route of a 5.4 km railway line between Kibbutz Yagur and Hatishbi Junction includes earthworks, retaining walls and various roadway structures.
A railway line above Hatishbi Junction and Tel Kashish, including a 400-meter railway bridge in the balanced cantilever method.
