About the Project

The inception of this project dates back to 1998. The eastern segment of the interchange, facilitating the passage of Highway 50, was constructed above Highway 1.

The Yigal Yadin Bridge, executed by Shapir, employed cutting-edge segment technology, then considered the forefront in the realm of bridge engineering globally.

Utilizing this method, bridge sections were transported to the site and assembled in situ, directly above the existing road, without disrupting the flow of ongoing traffic. This feat was accomplished by incorporating prestressed sections directly sourced from the beam factory.

A total of 192 beam sections, each weighing 60 tons, were employed in this project.

Project Implementation: 1998-2002
