The construction of an interchange at the Yagur Junction, one of the busiest junctions throughout Northern Israel, was designed to reduce the heavy traffic congestion in the area and shorten the travel time between the Haifa Metropolitan Area, the Trans Israel Highway, the Galilee and the northern valleys.
In bridgework conducted as part of the project, three girder bridges and ramps were constructed while having to cope with restricted access and difficult ground for construction.
Furthermore, rehabilitation and expansion work was conducted on Highway 70 northbound from Yagur Junction and on Highway 75 from Yoqneam to Haifa; a grade separation was carried out between the traffic on three roadways; a bridge was constructed to span above the New Valley Railway, and the water flow of the Kishon River in the area of the interchange was regulated.
